Affordable Housing Pilot Project

NSW

TAHE’s Affordable Housing Pilot Project will unlock new housing opportunities to help tackle the rising challenge of housing affordability in NSW.

The project will support the NSW Government’s initiatives as outlined in the Housing 2041: NSW Housing Strategy, around delivering a range of housing solutions at connected and serviced locations.

The AHPP has established a framework to partner with the open market for the delivery of new affordable housing stock.

The Market Sounding Phase was completed in January 2023 and provided us with lots of constructive feedback and input from the market, which has been used to inform the next phase.

Expressions of Interest concluded in March 2023, where we looked to attract innovative and high-quality organisations to partner with TAHE including community housing providers, builders, developers and funders (debt/equity) to join us for the journey.

Project figures:

  • The first tranche will include four sites in a variety of locations across the Sydney Metropolitan area offered as a package;
  • This tranche is anticipated to deliver up to 300 affordable dwellings;
  • Second and third tranches will be rolled out progressively.
